Born x Raised "War for Home"

This one lives close to my heart.

I met Spanto through a friend and we clicked right away. He was exactly who people said he was: authentic, proud, magnetic, just good to be around. He built Born x Raised with Alex 2Tone, and for years we talked about making something together. Then the moment came.

Every city changes. Venice changed under his feet. He grew up there and watched not just that it was taken, but how. That “how” drove so much of what Born x Raised stands for. I won’t speak for him, but I know what it meant.

The film lived inside an art installation I built with production designer Robert Müller: a fake real estate office with ads on the walls and a desk where you’d sit to fill out an application while the video played in front of you. It was satire you had to walk into.

Thank you, Spanto, for letting me into your world. Rest in peace. You’re a legend to your city, and that will never expire.
