Back on Two Feet Documentary
I was on set the night before when the phone rang: “Can you fly to San Diego and film a Marine veteran going into surgery?”
Twelve hours later I was behind the lens with Kirstie Ennis as she faced losing her leg from injuries sustained in her service.
Access was tight. More than once I broke the camera down into pieces, handed them out to the crew, carried it through in sections, and rebuilt it on the other side just to get an interview.
Kirstie and I became friends. She’s an American hero, an athlete, and an all-around badass, and the film premiered in New York City, presented by Channing Tatum. It was an honor to help tell her story.
